THE LARGEST BLACK HOLE EVER DISCOVERED

 

Ø The ultra massive black hole in the galaxy  cluster Abell 1201.It can pack upto the mass of 30 billion suns.

                    Astronomers have discovered the ultra-massive black hole, which can be the largest black hole known to the humans till date. This giant black hole is capable of the mass of 30 billion suns. This massive black hole is situated in center of the galaxy which was hundreds of millions light years away from earth.

                     Astronomers discovered this black hole when they were observing the galaxies, which located far away from earth.Scientists discovered this massive black hole while observing the galaxy which was orbiting this blackhole.They used gravity of the surrounded galaxy to magnify the background image. This effect is known as gravitational lensing.

                        Gravitational lensing is an outcome of gravity which bending the light around the extremely massive objects. It serve as a natural telescope and it will help the astronomers to increase the magnification of objects which will result in clear observation for the human made telescopes.

                          James Nightingale , an astrophysicist from Durham university in U.K made a statement that, this giant blackhole is roughly 30 billion times the mass of our sun and this is in the upper limit of the size and mass of black hole ever predicted by the theories and this is the massive black hole ever discovered by humans.           

                           

                                 The scientific team came out with result related to the size of the black hole after analyzing the magnification of foreground objects by Hubble telescope. Scientist’s  used sophisticated computer modeling to find how much light is bending through the foreground galaxies towards the black hole.

        

                          By observations made by scientists they concluded that this black hole is located in one of the galaxies of the Abell 1201 galaxy cluster. Scientists even concluded that this blackhole is enormous but not very active, which means the black holes is not swallowing too many particles, so it was not producing strong X-ray radiation. It makes more difficult to study about this black hole for our scientists.

 

                          Most of the black holes which are discovered till now are in active state. When the matter is observed inside by the blackholes. The particles emit energy in the form of light, X-rays and other radiations. Nightingale said “The gravity lensing making it possible to study inactive galaxies. This method could help us to detect many blackholes which are beyond our galaxies and give us a idea , how this dark giants evolved in cosmic time.
